Questions people ask.
Do I need a window for a portable air conditioner?
Yes — portable AC pushes warm air out through a hose, so you need a window, vent or door we can fit it to. The window kit is included. If there's genuinely no way to vent, tell us and we'll suggest an evaporative cooler or fans instead.
What if I need it longer than I booked?
Just text or call. You can extend by the day and we'll adjust the bill. Collection happens when you say.
Do you deliver to homes?
Yes. Unlike most hire companies we're happy to supply homeowners, landlords and Airbnb hosts. Same prices, same service.
What does it cost to run?
Our portable AC draws up to 1.35 kW — roughly 35–40p per hour at current tariffs. Our 2.2 kW infrared heaters cost around 55–75p per hour on full and plug into a normal socket. Spot coolers need a 16A supply and the 15 kW fan heater needs three-phase — we'll check this with you before delivery.
Is the equipment safe and checked?
Every unit is cleaned and inspected before each hire and carries an asset tag. It comes with a one-page guide and a support number if anything is unclear.
What if a unit breaks during my hire?
Message or email us. We'll swap it the same day within our free-delivery area, and you won't pay for the downtime.
Do you require a deposit?
For card bookings we take a refundable pre-authorisation on your card (typically £100–£250 depending on the kit) which is released at collection. Trade accounts are invoiced monthly instead.
